The significance of the Humanities as a discipline is increasingly growing in a technology-driven world where human values need to be integrated within professional, social and cultural ecosystems. In our collaborative learning environment, the student will not only strive for academic excellence but also develop a deep-seated sense of social responsibility, preparing the student to engage meaningfully with the community and the world at large.

The school offers a transformative educational experience where education goes far beyond the textbook

Hemangi Bhagwat is the Incharge Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Somaiya Vidyavihar University and Professor of Languages & Literature at the Somaiya School of Civilisation Studies. With over 35 years of teaching experience, she has contributed extensively to higher education through research, academic leadership, and institutional development.

A recognized Ph.D. guide in English Literature at the University of Mumbai, she has supervised several doctoral scholars, authored books and research papers, and presented at national and international conferences. She has also served as a NAAC National Assessor and has actively contributed to academic audits, curriculum development, and communication skills training for academic and corporate institutions.
